The Place
Once home of a turn of the century narrow gauge railroad station between Santa Fe and Southern Colorado, Embudo Station is steeped in local history. From the hand built stone buildings, to the barely discernible narrow-gauge railroad bed, the land is filled with stories from the past. When you look up into the rust colored hills surrounding the restaurant you can easily imagine the outlaws and prospectors hidden just out of sight.
Though the train has not passed through Embudo in over 60 years, the restaurant still invites travelers to take a moment and enjoy the serenity of the Rio Grande from the river-front patio shaded by hundred year old cottonwoods.
